DISTRIBUTION: East, and Southern Africa
DIET: Mainly leaves, grass, shrubs, some fruits, large bulbs and tuberous roots.
NOTES: Common elands are spiral-horned antelopes. With an adult male around 1.6 metres tall at the shoulder with the female being about 20 centimetres shorter, they can weigh up to 942 kg. The common eland is the slowest antelope, with a peak speed of 40 kilometres.
