DISTRIBUTION: Northwest Colombia
DIET: Insects, fruit, plant exudates, nectar, small reptiles & amphibians
NOTES: Small-bodied and easily recognized by the characteristic fan of long, very fine white hair on their heads. They have black-skinned faces such that their faces appear naked. Tamarins are highly important seed dispersers in tropical ecosystems. They ingest and void seeds larger than those consumed by much larger species of primates.
