DISTRIBUTION: Endemic to Brazil.
DIET: Plants, fruit, nectar, insects and small invertebrates.
NOTES: It’s preferred habitat is within mature forest. The golden-headed lion tamarin has black fur overs its entire body except for on its head, mane and parts of its tail, hands and feet, where the fur is a light to deep golden colour. It lives within a group ranging in size from 2 -11 individuals. Both Males and females invest energy in caring for the young and all members of the group help with the juveniles upbringing.
