Eco Steps Club

June 20, 2009 0 Comments Posted by birdpark

The Eco Steps Club is based on the idea that there is no better way of learning about nature than from the nature itself. Through ecological education, Pafos Bird & Animal Park’s aim is to develop among the young students, a respectful and responsible attitude towards nature and its protection.
The project was designed for a period of 6 months during which the members participated regularly in group meetings which were held in the specially designed classroom, as well as outdoors. They made projects and created slogans demonstrating the importance of preserving nature, they informed people about the life and habitat of the animals from the park, they learned what practical zoo keeping means and worked with animals.
We hope they have increased their knowledge by learning from different situations and practical activities regarding animals care.
Pafos Bird & Animal Park this year has developed another project with a school from Romania, based on exchanging educational materials and information about practical zoo keeping.
In the future we hope that we will have more educational projects and more students interested in joining in the Eco Steps Club.
