New addition to the family a lovely group of one male and two female African Wild Dogs just arrived from another zoo located in Africa. They seem to enjoy their new home and the care provided. We hope to have them settled in, in no time.
You may have noticed that we have a number of new empty enclosure if you have visited in the last few months. However at the weekend 2 of these were filled when the first 2 pairs of our Toucan collection arrived. The others will also be filled over the next few weeks.
We welcomed 1 pair of Channel-billed Toucans (Ramphastos vitellinus), and 1 pair of Black-necked aracari (pteroglossus aracari). We now wait for the arrival of 2 more pairs of Toucan to complete this collection including the Toco Toucan (Ramphastos toco).
We have now added to our wild cats collection.
Last Sunday we welcomed 1 pair of Carcal wild cats (Caracal caracal) to the zoo. They have now settled into there new purpose built enclosures in our new wild cats area, we now just wait for the arrival of 2 other spices of wild cats to complete the area.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of 2 baby’s to our family of Patagonian Mara.
The Patagonian Mara only arrived at the Zoo in the Summer of last year have settled in very well and are now the proud parents of 2 bouncing baby’s.

We were really excited to discover that our pair of Cotton-Top Tarmarins were going to be parents after nearly 4 years at the zoo, and last week the female gave birth to 1 baby which is very strong and developing very well.

Last week after months of work on the pound and surrounding area near the Zoo entrance we have now introduced 2 Asian small clawed otters (Aonyx cinerea) to their new home.
They have now settled in and pictures will follow.
